Committees

Much of the work of the Chamber is done through committees.  Active committees are vital to a successful chamber because members participate and make things happen.
Enhance your investment in the Chamber by participating on one or more of these committees.

STANDING COMMITTEES OF THE CHAMBER

Executive Committee

This committee is a working committee of the Board of Directors that confers with the President of the Chamber in making recommendations to the Board on a variety of matters including the organization’s budget, agency policies and overall strategic direction.  The executive committee is comprised of the five elected officials of the board, the Chairman of the Board, the Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and past year’s Chairman of the Board.  The President of the Chamber also part of this committee.

 

Nomination Committee

Preparation of the slate of candidates for election as officers of the Chamber and members to the board of directors is the responsibility of this committee.  


COMMUNITY-BASED COMMITTEES OF THE CHAMBER

Hackettstown Area Business Council

This committee plans and organizes networking and special events that are generally based in and for the Hackettstown Area. 

  

Phillipsburg Area Business Council

This committee plans and organizes networking and special events that are generally based in and for the Phillipsburg area.

 

Washington Area Business Council

This committee plans and organizes networking and special events that are generally based in and for the communities of Belvidere, Washington, Blair Township, and Warren Hills areas.

 

AD HOC CHAMBER COMMITTEES

Special Events Committee  

Designed to develop and manage events and activities for the overall Chamber organization such as Spring Festival.  

 

Committee on Public Policy

Legal and political issues impact everyone’s business. This committee will serve as the Chamber’s voice on matters of public policy and on specific business regulatory issues.

 

Membership Development

Making businesses aware of the benefits of membership and, thereby, encouraging more businesses to join the Chamber is the purpose of this committee.  

 

Tourism Development Committee

If you are involved in or rely on the tourism industry and is interested in enhancing tourism in Warren County, this committee is especially for you!  Members of this committee would work with other businesses within the tourism industry to establish a unified welcome to all visitors to Warren County.

 

Public Relations & Promotion

Developing an on-going public relations and promotion program for the Chamber and its membership is the major activity for this group.  

 

Program Development & Evaluation

Ensuring that all of the Chamber’s programs are accomplishing their intended purpose and are excelling is what this committee is all about. This group will evaluate existing programs and events and will recommend changes to special events and program planners.

 

Economic Development Committee

Identifying new markets for member industries is important to the work of this committee. Attracting new customers and investment opportunities is important to ensuring a growing and strong Chamber membership.  This Committee would be responsible for developing the Community Expo formerly known as Senior Expo.  The Community Expo would exhibit markets important to seniors, business to business commerce, and tourism all under one roof.
